ICARHMA 2023 Annual meeting was held in Montreal, Canada

On 22th September 2023, JRAIA participated in 2023 Annual meeting of ICARHMA (The International Council of Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Manufacturers Association), an international council of eleven global RACHP industry associations held in Montreal, Canada.

The ICARHMA meeting was held in Montreal, Canada on September 22, 2023. The meeting is held once a year on a rotating basis by each industry to discuss positions and responses to global industry-related issues, with a focus on global environmental issues, in cooperation with industry associations in major countries. This year's meeting was hosted by HRAI of Canada, and 18 participants from 9 organizations of ABRAVA(Brazil), AHRI(USA), AREMA(Australia), CRAA(China), EPEE(Europe), Eurovent(Europe), KRAIA(Korea) and JRAIA attended the meeting in face to face.

In the meeting, Mr. Drew Leybourne of Naturan resources Canada gave a special presentation on decarbonization policy initiatives in buildings in Canada.

Next, members shared top 3 issues of each association. In addition, Refrigerant conversion updates and concerns in each region were shared.

And participants shared their views on the approach to A3 refrigerants, which varies from country to country and company to company due to different strategies, and that they will continue to monitor the issue closely as an important industry issue.

JRAIA shared information on responding to the Carbon Neutral Strategy, working with government to review the Fgas Regulation and PFAS as an emerging issue to watch.

The ICARHAM Meeting also includes social gathering and this time, participants socialized through a tour of a maple syrup farm and a reception dinner with the local ghost story telling.

The next interim meeting will be hosted by AHRI and scheduled for January 21, 2024 in Chicago for face-to-face meetings.

Next meeting will be hosted by ABRAVA, Brazil, and is scheduled to be held in-person in Sao Paulo around late August 2024.
